Change of command??

We were treated to a guest opinion in the 4-27-07 issue of the Sierra Vista Herald. Yep, none other and Gabrielle Giffords, picture and all, gave us her expert analysis of illegal immigration control. The title of her article is, "Southern Arizona border security is unacceptable". Great title, don't you think? To read the article go: http://www.svherald.com/articles/2007/04/27/local_news/features_and_opinions/columnists/columnist2.txt

She starts out by saying, "After closely examining the deficient inspection infrastructure we have in Arizona compared with other border states, I am not surprised that the Tucson Sector has more drugs seized and illegal immigrants apprehended than any other sector bordering Mexico." Our deficient inspection infrastructure?? That must make the inspectors happy. She does acknowledge that the Tucson corridor is the most heavily used route for illegal. When she addresses permanent or roving checkpoints it appears that having illegals on private property is more important to her than the influx of illegals into this nation. She has taken over the responsibilities of the Border Patrol when it come to other than apprehending an illegal when she says, "As the congresswoman representing Southeastern Arizona, it is my responsibility to make sure that we have all of the possible tools and technologies to secure our border, protect our citizens, and promote a healthy business environment. Check that! Her responsibility. This probably makes the Border Patrol and Minutemen breath easier.

Anyway, when the Republicans take back CD8 we won't have to worry about her responsibilities.

There was David Aguilar who was responsible for the Tucson sector, and got kicked upstairs. He was so good that the 11,000 BP union unanimously voted no confidence. How would they vote where Giffords is concerned?
